Smokey Joes Cafe was my directorial debut so has a special place in my heart. Although the show is written for 9 characters, I made it an ensemble piece with a loose story line linking the songs together. The show was set in a bar with the cast coming and going in a static set of tables and chairs and a juke box. On the table was a cocktail menu to provide a handy prop when sitting acting drinking and eating etc. Our cocktail menu has the list of songs so that the cast could know what was coming up. It is printable in an A5 format and works best if folded and laminated.
